Antique Victorian Grand Tour 18ct Solid Gold & Micromosaic Pendant c1880
This is for an antique Victorian period 18ct solid gold and micromosaic pendant, circa 1880.
The 18ct solid yellow gold setting, is decotated with chased technique to depict a concentric band of foliate scrolls.
The centre is set with a micromosaic, depicting an ancient Italian monument, set in oval black glass, with a chamfered edge.
The micromosaic compirses many small coloured glass tesserae, and measures 13.5 mm in height and 10 mm in width.
The solid gold mount is hallmarked, although the marks are indistinct, the gold tests as 18 carat solid gold.
This pendant measures 25 mm in heght and 21 mm in width.
The condition is generally excellent, without damage or repair, a few of the small coloured glass tesserae are missing,
although this is not impair the image, and is only noticable on very close inspection. Please see images.
