an extremelyfinesilver and enamel pendant by james fenton,the piece hasperfect enamels in shaded blues acid yellow/greenand purplewhich are typical of the art nouveau period,the pendant is ofthe finest quality and would have been sold through various high end retailers the like of liberty & co,connells of cheapside etc,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,jessie m king,archibald knox,murrle bennett(all of whom produced designs for the cymric range of silverware for liberty's)and charles horner.thiswork ranks along side these in both design and quality of manufacture.the pendant measures a tad over1.5" top to bottom excluding the bale loop andis hung from a fine link silverchain which is 18" in length and fitted with a sturdy ringbolt clasp,it is fully marked to the back with the full assay offices marks forbirmingham with the date letteri for 1908 and jf for james fenton the marks are clear andlegible.the pendant will be sent in a new velvet lined gift box which is included in the sale.please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
