a stunning art nouveau silver and enamelbatpendantby charles horner,the piece has perfect enamels invibrant blues andgreen which are typical of the art nouveau period,the piece is of extremely fine quality and would have been sold through various high end retailers the like of liberty & co,connells of cheapside etc,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,jessie m king,archibald knox,murrle bennett(all of whom produced designs for the cymric range of silverware for liberty's)and james fenton.horners work ranks along side these in both design and quality of manufacture.thependant is hung from an 18"fine link chain with a strong ring bolt clasp,it measures 1 3/8ths" across the wings and 2.75" from top to bottom excluding the bale loopandis fully marked to the back with the CH punch for charles horner and the full assay offices marks for chester with the date letterj for 1909.thependant will be sent in a velvet lined gift box which is included in the sale.please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
