an unusualart nouveau silver celtic knotbrooch or pinby archibald knox for liberty & co,it hasa strong hand wrought look to it whichtypical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period,thebrooch is ofgoodqualityand would have been sold throughthe liberty & costore in londons regent streetas part of their cymric & tudric ranges of silver & pewter ware,there were severalpeople using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,jessie m king,charles hornerand james fenton.the brooch has the typical cymric mark to the back plus sterling.thebrooch measures 7/8ths"across and 1 1/8th"top to bottom,there appears to be an old repair to the c clasp although it might simply be a build up of tarnish,itwill be sent in a new velvet lined gift box which is included in the sale.please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.
