superb liberty & co arts & crafts silver cymric preserve spoon 1902:

a lovelyrarearts & crafts silver jam or preserve spoonwhichis typical of the art nouveau & arts & crafts period the simple handle lifted by the celtic knot ball and the threehand chiseled grooves which run from the tip down through the ball to the rat tail on the back of the bowl,thespoon designed by archibald knox andwas sold through liberty & co as part of their cymric & tudric ranges of art nouveausilver and pewter ware,there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era,amongst those the most notable were,oliver baker,jessie m king,charles hornerand james fenton murrle bennett.it isfully marked with the assay office marks for birmingham date letterc for 1902and the l&co mark in the three diamond lozenge plus the much desired cymric stamp the marks are a little rubbed but legible,the spoon measures 4.25" long.overall condition should be considered assuperb and there are no breaks or repairs so an extremely nice piece to add to your collection.please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece and should not be mistaken for the unmarked copies and reproduction items offered on .postage is by special delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.this is the second cymric mustard pot that i have been fortunate offer for sale recently
